New generation Honda Civic on the road test in Germany

[24HCAR] - Japanese car manufacturer are testing the ninth generation of the midsize sedan. By 2011, the new Civic will be available on the market.


According to product cycle, new generation Civic will be released in this year. But Honda has moved to 2011 and revealed the car will lighter and more economical.

U.S. and Asian versions can be different design, depending on each market strategy of Honda.

At Tokyo exhibition 10/2009, Director of Honda North America Tsuneo Tanai said, the redesign model has gone half way. Next-generation Civic is expected larger than current models. However, the exterior was designed closer to the present generation.

Only Civic, Honda has a turnover of about a million cars sold globally each year, in which the U.S. market about 1/3.

Mendel confirmed, the new generation Civic delayed debut time, but crossover CR-V developed based on the Civic will still complete five year cycle properly. Current model has been on the market in autumn 2006 and the next generation will appear next year.
